Zhanar's mom and sister just happened to arrive a couple days before Kazakh independence day. Lucky for us - the Kazakh Diplomatic Mission had an event and invited all of the Kazakhs in Singapore. All 12 of them. There were lots of other folks there too - colleagues, friends, etc. It was a pretty nice event, with horse sausage and everything. Even a big ice replica of the tower in Astana.
