We came across a golden wedding chair on the side of the road, so Sean and Nita posed while Nita's friend Maya held the traditional umbrella. Posted by Picasa

I had a bitchin' moustache for a while. But Zhanar couldn't stand it so I shaved it off. I complained so much that Zhanar suggested I put it in a matchbox and bury it in the back yard. I was tempted. Farewell pornstar moustache. We had some good times, you and I. Sniff sniff. Posted by Picasa

Outside of the big cities on the island Java in Indonesia, this is what a bus looks like. The little minivan behind the carriage is what a bus looks like in the bigger towns. Posted by Picasa

One of the dutch tea plantation houses. This was the nicest one we passed. Posted by Picasa

Makeshift bike repair. We added a piece of tea-bush-branch to help hold up Sean's muffler which was coming loose. Posted by Picasa

Afternoon sun over the tea plantation Posted by Picasa

We took an overnight trip down to a larger tea plantation area south of Bandung. Here's the place we stopped for lunch on the way up into the mountains. Posted by Picasa

Sean and Nita on the cool bike we borrowed from Sean's friend. We're out at the tea plantation near the hot springs. Posted by Picasa

The first night, we visited the Quinine plantation, had a great lunch of asparagus soup, fried fish and stir fried broccoli, and went to some hot springs out in the tea plantation area. The next day I had to go back to the tea plantation and take photos because it was so beautiful. And check out that cool moustache as well! Posted by Picasa

The Quinine manager's and family (far right) and a bunch of friends of the family (left). These women were very racy, and entertained us with quips like "I know 47 sexual positions. You don't believe me? You should find out!" Posted by Picasa

The manager's house at the Quinine Plantation. It's an old dutch plantation, run now by a very friendly Indonesian couple. Apparently this region of the world had a monopoly on Quinine around the time of the second world war, and it was the only known anti-malarial at the time. Quinine is the bark of a tree. Posted by Picasa

We bought some pineapples to bring to the Quinine Plantation manager when we rode up there for a visit. Posted by Picasa

At night we keep the bikes in the kitchen.  Posted by Picasa

I went to visit my friend Sean in Bandung, Indonesia. We started the weekend with a flat tire on the way back home the first evening. But fortunately, tire repair / drink stall / reupholstery kiosks are everywhere. Posted by Picasa

Petronus Tower, once the tallest building in the world but now a mere second. Funny thing about the whole tallest bullding in the world thing is that it seems to include the flagpole.  Posted by Picasa

Tank Treads, from Kent Ridge Park. I was trying to ride my bike from Ikea to Holland Village, without a map. I must have gone completely the wrong direction because I ended up in Kent Ridge park, but it was a good bike ride. Posted by Picasa
